Economics Ph.D. candidate, Jin Qin, won the Excellence in Laboratory Teaching Award for 2016! This award was given to applicants who exemplify the highest degree of teaching achievement and training in a laboratory setting at North Carolina State University. Part of the criteria for achieving this award include being able to exhibit superior command of the subject matter; demonstrate rapport with students while maintaining their respect and trust, and act as a role model, demonstrating high standards, good listening skills, and ethics.
Jin, originally from China, has been teaching at North Carolina State University since 2015 and is teaching ARE 201 for the ARE Department this semester. His research areas focus on international trade and environmental economics. He believes in learning with happiness, so his class is always clear, organized, passionate and funny. Jin also enjoys incorporating his personality into teaching and he really cares about the success of each student.
